there are few things more delightful than mechanical, functional items that can be worn as jewelry and this one is especially old and wonderful. a sterling silver case for a carpenter's pencil with a mechanism that retracts the pencil back into the case. the case is for a vintage sized pencil, so a modern pencil would probably need to be wittled down by hand to fit into the case
